One of the most commonly occurring malignancies is Bladder cancer. It is characterized by frequent urination, burning sensation while urination, blood in urine, back pain etc.
The different causes for this deadly disease may be genetic mutations, radiation exposure, oxidative damage, and even unhygienic living conditions.
Some of the till date used treatments for prostate cancer like radiation therapy increases the risk of bladder cancer.
Recent development in surgical interventions towards treating bladder cancer is robotic surgery through which we can remove the effected portion of bladder or the whole bladder along with nearby lymph nodes. Removal of bladder depends upon severity of the cancer. The bladder removal is often followed by urinary diversion.
To avoid the development of this notorious, unhealed cancer we should be more cautious. Immediate medical care should be taken for pain in pelvic region, burning urine or blood in urine. These are the earliest symptoms of infection. Sometimes blood in urine goes unnoticed but pain in pelvic can be looked for. We should go for urine cytology which truly and perfectly reveals the malignancy if any. Through this test the abnormal cells can be detected along with other confirmatory diagnostic approaches.
